Kalyan Silks Bangalore - Review

Kalyan Silks Bangalore...crushed in, hard to spot are the first impressions. The lack of space is obvious too, unlike their prolific jewellery store which has an expansive store further down on Dispensary Road, Kalyan Silks is sandwiched between a sports good store and a mall. There are 4 people standing at the door waiting to welcome you? unfortunately neither their demeanour nor actions or lack thereof are inviting. Since we were looking for silk sarees we were shepherded to the first floor. The shop assistants were cheerful and helpful, and the selection of sarees according to the gathered women folk were not too bad either. Did the constant branding on television sway their opinion? or was it genuine appreciation? can't really be sure.
So, after hours of  debates and drapings the basket of woven silk headed to the billing counter. From here onwards, the experience spiralled downwards alarmingly. Despite the invoice reaching close to six figures there was never a mention, nah a whisper about an appropriate discount on the bill value. A slimy bouncer like character will try and coax you into settling the bill without fight. When you do put up some resistance the usual spiel will come rolling out like yarns...."there is no discount at all" "but out of respect for you" we will reduce the price by an extremely insignificant amount and make you feel worse for not listening to all those well wishers who told you to head towards Mysore Silk Udyog, Sudarshan Silks etc. After digesting that you head to towards the delivery section and you watch them busy stuffing your expensive sarees into bags that look like they were ordered to be cheap. As you shake your head in disgust and walk out promising never to return again, the slimy voice leaves you with a parting "come again sir and madam..we'll give more discounts then"..ugh!!

Very true..had a bad experience myself. Will never return to this place again. Better shop at some Kannada stores like Mysore silk, Sudarshan silks instead!
